Minimum and Higher Benchmarks
Each job type has two benchmarks – the minimum and the
higher benchmarks. All employees who need to use English
in their work should achieve at least the minimum benchmarks
of their relevant job types. For those who aim high
and wish to upgrade their competency in workplace English,
they may wish to attain the higher benchmarks.
Businesses that require a higher standard of English, such
as multinational companies or those which deal regularly with
English-speaking clients, should also consider adopting higher
benchmarks.
