Workplace English Campaign "One
Minute's English" programme
As part
of the Workplace English Campaign, a television programme
"One Minute's English" is being produced by Radio
Television Hong Kong (RTHK) and will be broadcast from next
Monday (January 24).
With an emphasis on the use of English in the workplace, the
TV programme will adopt a lively, new format to introduce
common and practical English phrases for everyday use in various
places of work. Celebrities will also be invited to take part
in the programme.
The programme will run on two of the major terrestrial TV
stations for six months. The broadcasting schedule is as follows:
Channel Day Time
TVB-Jade Monday to Friday 9:00 a.m.
ATV-Home Monday to Friday 5:55 p.m and 2:30 a.m.
Saturday 9:15 a.m. (replay of the week)
The programme will also be adapted for radio broadcast concurrently
on the following radio channels:
RTHK Radio 1 - 4:30 p.m.
RTHK Radio 2 - 8:30 p.m.
RTHK Radio 5 - 9:30 p.m.
Mr Michael Tien, Chairman of the Steering Committee on the
Workplace English Campaign, said that the "One Minute's
English" programme would help raise public interest in
the learning of workplace English.
"Leaning workplace English could be quick and easy. I
hope this programme would help people acquire a useful grasp
of English conversation skill for their everyday use,"
he said.
