WEC launched two series of self-learning programmes in 2009. The first one featured Legislative Council Members to discuss some of the common errors in the use of English by Hong Kong people, while the second one introduced some English phrases and vocabulary commonly used in receiving overseas visitors. They could be reviewed at the WEC online self-learning platform at www.english.gov.hk/platform and WEC's webpage on Youtube at www.youtube.com/englishgovhk.

Workshops: Understanding some common English errors and how to overcome them

The two workshops hosted by Professor David C.S. Li of the Hong Kong Institute of Education were well-received by the attendants. Their videos are now available at the WEC website at www.english.gov.hk/seminar.

Promotion on Radio

They could be reviewed at the WEC website at www.english.gov.hk/api and WEC's webpage on Youtube at www.youtube.com/englishgovhk.
Upcoming: English quiz on Facebook
