Last Call for Application to Funding Scheme for Workplace English Training
The Funding Scheme for Workplace English Training will stop receiving applications in early 2009. Corporate Supporters who wish to apply for grants to commission in-house English training tailor-made for their employees are reminded to submit their application forms to the Office of Workplace English Campaign (WEC) on or before 30 January 2009 (Friday). For enquiries, please call WEC hotline at 2186 8800.

On-line Self-Learning Platform
at www.english.gov.hk/platform

WEC launched an on-line platform to provide direct links to various self-learning materials produced by WEC and the Standing Committee on Language Education and Research (SCOLAR). These materials include the TV programme "Workplace English", abstracts of the TV programme "English Festival: One-minute English", booklet titled "English Everywhere", and video series "Work Chat Video". Please visit http://www.english.gov.hk/eng/html/learning.htm for a review of them.

A new video series on English learning will be added to the platform in 2009. Details will be announced in due course.
