Latest News on Funding Scheme for
Workplace English Training

The Standing Committee on Language Education and Research (SCOLAR) concluded the review on the Funding Scheme for Workplace English Training. Noting that application rate for the Scheme has been low (average 13 cases per month) despite intensive efforts to promote and publicize the Scheme and the fact that the demand for the Scheme would continue to maintain at a low level, SCOLAR decided that the Scheme will thus stop receiving applications in early 2009. Companies interested to apply to the Scheme for grants to commission in-house English training tailor-made for their employees should send their application forms to the Office of the Workplace English Campaign (OWEC) on or before 30 January 2009.

The application forms can be downloaded at: http://www.english.gov.hk/fs.htm. For further details, please contact OWEC at 2186-8800.
