English in the
Workplace Campaign being planned
In response to press inquiries, a spokesman
of the Education and Manpower Bureau (EMB) said today (August 4)
that EMB and the Standing Committee on Language Education
and Research were making preparation to launch a campaign
later this year to raise the awareness of good standards of
English in workplace.
"A steering committee will be set up
to advise on the organisation of the campaign. Funding for
the campaign will be provided by the Language Fund."We will seek maximum support and participation
from the business sector.
"As preparation work for the campaign
has just started, no further details can be announced at
this stage," the spokesman said.
